BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team dropped a close battle with Millsaps College Friday afternoon in their Southern Athletic Conference opener. BSC (4-4, 0-1 SAA) fell 5-4 to the Majors.

Lee Thompson (Boaz, Ala./Boaz HS) picked up two wins on the day.  He and partner Jamie Bekaert (Johns Creek, Ga./Rivers Academy) outlasted Millsaps at #3 doubles 9-8. Thompson then won a hard fought #5 singles match.

The Panthers hit the road to take on SAA rival Hendrix College next.  Match time is set for 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 1.
