ROME, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team won the race to five on the road against Southern Athletic Association rival Berry College Friday morning.  The Panthers won 5-4 to improve to 7-6 on the year, 3-3 against conference opponents.

Jacob Weinacker (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) and Alex Makarenko (Suwanee, Ga./Peachtree Ridge HS) have now won two straight singles matches.  Weinacker took #1 singles (6-2, 6-0), while Makarenko won at #2 singles 6-2, 6-2.

BSC is now tied for fourth in the league with Oglethorpe. They face the Stormy Petrels in the last match of the regular season to determine who will be seeded fourth in the conference tournament.
