Box Score ATLANTA – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team suffered its third loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling on the road to Emory 3-0.
A first half goal by the Eagles set the Panthers back 1-0 at the break, and BSC could not recover. Emory would add two more goals in the 70th and 81st minutes and cap the scoring.
The Eagles outshot BSC 25-7 and the Panthers committed 15 fouls compared to Emory's eight. Senior goalkeeper Marvin Castellanos, making his first start of the season, played all 90 minutes and made six saves. The loss drops BSC to 3-3-1 on the year.
Birmingham-Southern will remain on the road for its next match, a Southern Athletic Association opener against Hendrix. That match is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23 at 7:00 p.m.
