BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team fell 5-4 to Oglethorpe University Saturday morning. The Panthers move to 7-8 overall, 1-3 against Southern Athletic Association opponents.
Anthony Pellegrini (Huntsville, Ala./Huntsville HS) and Jacob Weinacker (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) both picked up two wins on the day. The pair won No. 1 doubles with losing a single game, 8-0. The Panthers other win came at No. 3 doubles after Jamie Bekaert (Johns Creek, Ga./Rivers Academy) and Charley Rowe (Gadsden, Ala./Westbrook Christian School) won 8-5. Weinacker won his No. 1 singles match (7-5, 6-3) and Pellegrini took his No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-3.
BSC remains at home to take on Berry College tomorrow. Match time is set for 9 a.m.
