Panthers Drop Road Match at Stormy Petrels

ATLANTA – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team was defeated by the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels 9-0 on the road on Friday.

The loss dropped the Panthers to 6-4-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the Southern Athletic Association.

The home side Stormy Petrels scored three goals in the first 45 minutes and tacked on six more in the second half to capture the 9-nil win.

The Panthers finished the match with 12 shots and five shots on goal, however, BSC could not find the back of the net. It was the first time the Panthers have been shut out this season.

Senior goalkeeper Kurt Moore (Euharlee, Ga./Darlington School) ended the match with eight saves.

Birmingham-Southern will travel to face off against Berry in its next match on Sunday, Oct. 13.
