Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team dropped its penultimate Southern Athletic Association game of the season to Sewanee 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Birmingham-Southern, now 6-7-1 overall, could not get a strong foothold in the match and was handed its fourth straight conference game loss since starting 2-0 in league play.
The Tigers scored two goals in each half to secure the 4-nil victory. The Panthers were outshot 24-10 and had three shots on goal.
Senior goalkeeper Kurt Moore (Eurharlee, Ga./Darlington School) finished the game with nine saves.
Prior to the start of the game, Birmingham-Southern held its Senior Day ceremony on the field. Seven Panthers seniors were recognized for their contributions and dedication to the men's soccer program and in the classroom: Gio Adan (Pelham, Ala./Pelham HS), Juan Campos (Chelsea, Ala./John Carroll Catholic HS), Ryan Hepp (Homewood, Ala./Homewood HS), Jackson Lynn (Homewood, Ala./Homewood HS), Kurt Moore (Euharlee, Ga./Darlington School), Parker Sturm (Hoover, Ala./Spain Park HS) and Jason Webb (Birmingham, Ala./Huntingdon College).
The Panthers next match will be at SAA opponent Millsaps on Saturday, Oct. 26.
