Box Score JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team fell 63-43 to Rhodes College in the quarterfinals of the Southern Athletic Association tournament Friday afternoon. BSC (9-17) had the lead at the break, but a big second half from the Lynx pushed them into the semis.
Senior Christian McGowan (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS) led with a team-high 12 points. She and fellow senior Kaitlin Hogan (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) spent a team-high 37 minutes on the floor.
For her performance, freshman Derienne Black (Madison, Ala./Sparkman HS) was named to the all-tournament team.
The Panthers went into the tournament as the No. 5 seed for the second time in program history. They now have a 5-6 all-time tournament record and are 1-1 all-time against Rhodes in the postseason.
