COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team fell 3-1 to Transylvania Saturday to close out play at the Pikes Peak Challenge. BSC moved to 6-3 overall with the loss.
Milea Ray (Alabaster, Ala./Pensacola State) finished with a double-double. She and Alyssa Coats (Nolensville, Tenn./Nolensville HS) led the Panthers offensively, earning 15 and 13 kills, respectively. Ray also netted 10 digs. And setters Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) and Reilly Vought (Spanish Fort, Ala./Spanish Fort HS) combined for 42 assists.
Defensively, Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) controlled the back line, picking up a team-high 21 digs. Rebecca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) dominated up front, earning a match-high 10 blocks.
BSC stays on the road. They open Southern Athletic Association play at No. 3 Berry College on Friday, Sept. 20. Match time is set for 5 p.m.
