Box Score ATLANTA – Birmingham-Southern women's basketball pulled to within one point in the final seconds of their Southern Athletic Association battle against Oglethorpe University Sunday afternoon. But the comeback fell short as the Stormy Petrels held on for the 75-72 win. BSC (12-6) moved to 4-3 in conference play with the loss.
Derienne Black (Madison, Ala./Sparkman HS) dropped a team-high 21 points with a game-high four steals. Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS) netted 17 points of her own, respectively, while grabbing a team-high seven rebounds and game-high five blocks. And Josie Wannemuehler (Birmingham, Ala./John Carroll Catholic HS) was a perfect 4-for-4 from three point range en route to her career-high 15 points.
The Panthers return to the Hilltop after the long road trip to face Berry College this Friday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
