WINSTON SALEM, N.C.  – Birmingham-Southern track and field had a great showing at the JDL Flat Is Fast Invitational.

It was a good weekend for JJ's as Jordan Jones (Powder Springs, Ga./Hiram HS) and John Jacobs (Albany, Ga./Deerfield-Windsor HS) set new records.  Jones became the new indoor triple jump record holder after going 14.42m to place first in the event.  Jacobs ran a personal record 7.06 in the 60m dash to earn second place.  The time made him the second fastest man in program history.

Griffin Riner (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) also placed second in his respective event after clearing 1.73m in the high jump.  And Glen Humphrey (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS) finished fourth overall in the 400m with a time of 51.81.  He along with William Wideman (Marietta, Ga./Pope HS), Tony Parisi (Marietta, Ga./Pope HS), and Reece Weaver (Fort Payne, Ala./Fort Payne HS) placed first in the 4x400m relay.  Their time of 3:29.20 was two seconds off the season best.

On the women's side, Jazmin Norris (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) excelled.  The senior placed third in the weight throw with a personal best toss of 13.15m.  She also earned sixth place in the shot put with a mark of 10.93m.
