Box Score GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team dropped its road game 12-11 at Southwestern on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers and Pirates were tired 2-2 after the first quarter, but after falling behind a goal in the second BSC could not make up the deficit before the final whistle.
Freshman Robert Marquet (Birmingham, Ala./Chelsea HS) and sophomore Carter McAlpin (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) led BSC's offensive attack in the game, scoring three goals each.
Junior Luke Fajack (Chapel Hill, N.C./Bridgewater College) started the game in goal for the Panthers, making nine saves.
The loss was BSC's first of the season, dropping the Panthers to 1-1 overall. Birmingham-Southern returns to the Hilltop for its next game on Tuesday, Feb. 18 against Centenary.
