SAA Tournament: Panthers Fall in Quarterfinals

JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team's season came to an end Sunday in the quarterfinals of the Southern Athletic Association tournament.  BSC (14-12) fell 57-47 on the road at Millsaps College. 

Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS) led with a team-high 12 points.  She and Derienne Black (Madison, Ala./Sparkman HS) grabbed a team-best six rebounds.

The Panthers had one of the best starts in program history this season, finishing the year 10-2 at home in Bill Battle Coliseum.  Olsen closed out her senior year ranked nationally in 13 different categories, including fifth in blocked shots.  Black is ranked in nine national categories.  And Misa Fujii (Sunnyvale, Calif./Notre Dame HS) is ranked in three.
