BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern men's tennis swept doubles play en route to its 6-3 win over Belhaven University Saturday at Dielen Tennis Complex. The Panthers are now 1-2 overall, and 1-0 against NCAA Division III opponents.
Jameson Bekaert (Johns Creek, Ga./Rivers Academy) went undefeated on the day. He and partner Wilbur Dotson (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope HS) won No. 1 doubles 8-3 before he went on to win No. 2 singles 6-3, 7-6 (4).
Zach Lewis (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) and Hunter Hoffmeister (Longwood, Fla./Orangewood Christian HS) also finished the day undefeated. Lewis won at No. 2 doubles 8-7 (3) with partner Anthony Romano (Knoxville, Tenn./Webb HS) and then took No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-1. Hoffmeister won in No. 3 doubles with partner Bo Williams (Albany, Ga./Deerfield Windsor HS) 8-4. He went on to win No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-1.
