JACKSON, Miss. – Birmingham-Southern men's basketball suffered its first loss of the season Saturday. BSC fell 84-80 at Belhaven University to move to 3-1 overall. The Panthers pulled within two with under 30 seconds to play. But a pair of free secured the win for Belhaven.
Troy Stephens (Atlanta, Ga./St. Pius X Catholic HS) dropped a season-high 19 points to lead the Panthers. He was a perfect 5-for-5 from behind the arc.
Cameron Glover (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) came off the bench and scored a career-high 18 points.
Conor O'Sullivan (Tower Cork, Ireland/Cork Institute of Technology) and
Christian Stewart (Birmingham, Ala./Shades Valley HS) rounded out the Panthers in double-figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
BSC will remain on the road, opening Southern Athletic Association play at Rhodes College on Friday, Jan. 15.
