BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team fought back after a slow start against Oglethorpe University Saturday afternoon, but the Panthers big second half push fell short as they dropped their first Southern Athletic Association game 105-95 in Bill Battle Coliseum.
Four finished in double-figures led by
Christian Stewart (Irondale, Ala./Shades Valley HS) who dropped 16 points.
Evan Sigler (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin HS) finished right behind him with 14 points.
Matt Gonda (Roswell, Ga./Roswell HS) and
Josh Childers (Madison, Ala./Westminster Christian Academy) netted 10 points each, respectively. Childers also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
BSC (5-2, 2-1 SAA) concludes its series against Oglethorpe Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
