DESTIN, Fla. - The Birmingham-Southern men's golf team traveled south to Destin, Fla. to compete in the Golfweek Division III Invite. The field was loaded with top 25 teams.
After round one of the Invite the Panthers were leading the No. 4, 14, and 21 ranked teams in the country. The team shot a 308 on day one to finish in 18th place after the first round of play. Leading the way for BSC was
Slade Dawson who shot a four-over (75).
In round two the Panthers climbed two spots to sit T16th. The Panthers were powered by
Slade Dawson,
Will Middleton and
Connor Hawkins who all shot in the low 70's on the day. Dawson shot an even par (71), Middleton followed with a two-over (73), and Hawkins closed with a three-over (74).
The Panthers looked to carry over the momentum from day two into day three, but were unable to. The Panthers shot a 308 on day three, their worst of the tournament and fell six spots to end the tournament in 22nd place.
