SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Birmingham-Southern men's golf team kicked off their 2024 spring season at the Port City Classic on Monday and Tuesday. Junior
Jake Ledbetter led the Panthers with his highest finish of the season tied for 11th.
In round one, Jacke Ledbetter led the Panthers with a 76 (+5) to come in tied for 36th.
Jackson Sharp was three strokes behind with a 79 (+8) on the day while
Jake Ovitt 81 (+10) was the third Panther to shoot in the low 80s or below.
Anderson McCary rounded off the BSC round one scores with a 93.
Ledbetter had a career day in round two with the highest placement of his career. The High Point, North Carolina native found himself inside the top 10 on the round with a 71 (E).
Jackson Sharp stayed consistent with his second straight 79 (+8) while
Jake Ovitt continued in the low 80s with an 82 (+11). Freshman
Anderson McCary had a two-stroke improvement in the second round with a 91.
The final round of the tournament saw other players move up, but
Jake Ledbetter still had an impressive day. He managed to finish T11 after a 73 (+2) in the final round.
Jackson Sharpe was one of two Panthers that saved the best round for last with a 78 (+7).
Anderson McCary saw a six-stroke improvement for his career-best score of 85 (+14).
Jake Ovitt once again shot in the low 80s with an 83 (+12).
