SEWANEE, Tenn. - After falling to Covenant last night the Panthers cleared their minds and were firing on all cylinders against MUW. BSC shot 48.8% from the floor and 50% from three-point land en route to a 99-60 win in their final game of the Lou Varnell Classic hosted by the University of the South.
After a short back and forth the Panthers hit their spurt and went on a 14-2 run to take a 31-17 run. After that, they would never look back. They would continue to extend their lead and be up by as much as 21 at one point, before taking an 18-point lead into halftime. Leading the way in the first half was
Brody Davis and
Cameron Glover who combined for 15 points (eight for Davis and seven for Glover).
Birmingham-Southern kept shooting the ball well and playing great defense, continuing to extend their lead. The Panther defense limited the Owls to 26 points and just 31% shooting in the second half. BSC forced 21 turnovers and led in most stat categories by the end of the game. The Panthers won handily 99-60.
