BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team got off to a hot start and never looked back against the LaGrange Panthers. In the first meeting of a two game season series BSC took the first game 98-71.
The Panthers started 6-for-7 from the floor and at the under 16 media timeout led 16-9. Out of the timeout the Panthers kept up the hot shooting and eventually went on a 17-3 run to extend their lead and led 38-20 just before the under four media timeout hit. Both teams went back and forth for the remainder of the half and BSC took a 16-point lead into halftime leading 48-32.
The second half was much of the same as the Panthers continued to pull away more and more throughout the second half.
Cameron Glover and
Luke Touliatos shined in the home opener. The duo combined for 33 of the Panthers 98 points. Glover was a play maker ending the game with a +32 rating. BSC shot 50.7% for the game and 50% from behind the arc en route to a 98-71 win over LaGrange.
