BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 18 Birmingham-Southern softball picked up two wins Sunday against Chattahoochee Valley Community College at home. BSC (4-0) took game one 4-2 and then unleashed their bats in the finale for the 14-1 five inning win.
Kailey Walters (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) hit .714 on the day, going 5-for-7 with two runs and five RBI to lead the team.
Kaylyn Chapman (New Castle, Pa./Shenango HS),
Alyssa Fowler (Moody, Ala./Moody HS), and
Annie Clayton (Eufaula, Ala./Eufaula HS) each had two hits a piece respectfully.
In the circle,
Lauren Keplinger (Pinson, Ala./Wallace State CC) earned the game two win after throwing three innings and striking out two. She finished with a 0.00 ERA. Clayton was the game one winner. She threw four innings and allowed just one earned run.
Hailee Bryan (Lauren Hill, Fla./Paxton HS) led the pitchers in strikeouts. She took down eight of the 12 batters she faced.
BSC stays at home for its next pair of games. The Panthers welcome Martin Methodist to the Hilltop on Tuesday, Feb. 16. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
