Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern men's tennis improved to 5-1 overall with its 9-0 sweep of Huntingdon College Friday night on the road.
The Hawks forfeited No. 3 doubles and the five and six singles positions to give BSC the 3-0 lead off the bat. But BSC won all six matches they competed in.
Hunter Hoffmeister (Longwood, Fla./Orangewood Christian HS) and
Reed Martinson (Huntsville, Ala./Huntsville HS) won at No. 1 doubles 8-6.
Tom Smith (Murfreesboro, Tenn./Central Magnet School) and Williams took their No. 2 doubles match 8-2. In singles play,
Bo Williams (Albany, Ga./Deerfield Windsor HS) only dropped one game in the No. 4 position, winning 6-1, 6-0.
BSC returns to the Hilltop tomorrow to take on Marion Military Institute at 9 a.m. and then Martin Methodist at 3 p.m. on the Ann Dielen Tennis Complex.
