BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team used a bit first half to defeat Southern Athletic Association rival Millsaps College 75-67 Friday night. BSC (10-5, 5-4 SAA) outshot the Majors on the floor and at the free throw line on senior day.
Troy Stephens (Atlanta, Ga./St. Pius X Catholic HS) led the Panthers with 17 points, making 70 percent of his shots.
Christian Stewart (Irondale, Ala./Shades Valley HS) and
Cameron Glover (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) finished with 12 points each, respectively. Stewart earned his 1,000
th career point in the win. And
Matt Gonda (Roswell, Ga./Roswell HS) rounded out the Panthers in double-figures with 11 of his own and had game-high five assists.
Ben Spence (Germantown, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Panthers close their series against Millsaps tomorrow. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
