Box Score 2 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern men's tennis moved to 6-2 overall after splitting matches with Marian Military Institute and Martin Methodist. After defeated Marian 8-1, the Panthers fell 6-3 to Martin Methodist.
Jameson Bekaert (Johns Creek, Ga./Rivers Academy) and
Hallett Green (Mobile, Ala./Mcgill Toolen) led the Panthers with three wins each on the day. Bekaert was perfect in No. 1 doubles. Partnered with
Elijah Ingleson (Marieta, Ga./Walton J) against Marian, they won 8-3. With
Wilbur Dotson (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope HS) against Martin Methodist, they took their opponents 8-2. He also won his No. 2 singles match against Marian after his opponent retired in the first set. Green won No. 2 doubles against Marian with partner
Tom Smith (Murfreesboro, Tenn./Central Magnet School), 8-2. He went on to win No. 1 singles 7-6, 6-1 over Marian and No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-1 against his Martin Methodist opponent.
BSC now prepares for its Southern Athletic Association opening at home against Rhodes College. They welcome the Lynx to the Hilltop on March 6. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
