SEWANEE, Tenn. – Birmingham-Southern men's basketball completed its clean sweep of Sewanee Sunday with a 89-72 win. BSC improved to 8-2 on the year and 3-1 against Southern Athletic Association opponents.
Five Panthers finished in double-figures led by
Matt Gonda (Roswell, Ga./Roswell HS) with 17 points.
Troy Stephens (Atlanta, Ga./St. Pius X Catholic HS) finished with 14 of his own.
Evan Sigler (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin HS) and
Bruce Bright, Jr. (Birmingham, Ala./John Carroll HS) earned 12 points each. And
Christian Stewart (Irondale, Ala./Shades Valley HS) was one rebound shy of a double-double. He netted 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
BSC returns to the Hilltop this Friday when the welcome SAA rival Hendrix College to Bill Battle Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
