BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern baseball split its Southern Athletic Association doubleheader against Centre College Saturday afternoon. A walk-off homer lifted the Panthers to a 4-3 game one win before falling 5-3 in the nightcap.
Three Panthers finished with three hits on the day, led by
Will Evans (Peachtree City, Ga./Starrs Mill HS) who hit .750, and
Cole Steadman (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) who sent two of his three hits over the fence.
Robbie Lively (Helena, Ala./Southern Union) earned the win and
Hanan Mauldin (Florence, Ala./Florence HS) received the loss.
Andy Hammond (Oxford, Ala./Oxford HS) struck out a team-high seven batters after eight innings of work in his start.
BSC (14-7, 6-4 SAA) concludes its series against the Colonels tomorrow in another doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
