DANVILLE, Ky. – No. 10 Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball improved to 6-0 on the year and in Southern Athletic Association play with its two 3-0 sweeps of Centre College Saturday afternoon.
Kennedy Dickens (Brentwood, Tenn./Ravenwood HS) and
Alyssa Coats (Nolensville, Tenn./Nolensville HS) led the Panthers with 19 kills each. Dickens also hit .444 across both matches.
Rominey Willner (Niceville, Fla./Rocky Bayou Christian School) and
Leah Nielsen (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS) both finished with 16 kills. And
Gigi Fields (Columbus, Miss./Heritage Academy) earned 12 kills, respectively.
Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) set the pace for the offense, finishing with 76 assists.
Defensively,
Julia Shoemake (Huntsville, Ala./The Randolph School) earned a team-high 26 digs. And Willner averaged 1.50 blocks per set.
BSC returns home next Saturday to welcome SAA rival Hendrix College to the Hilltop. The teams will play a doubleheader that starts at 11 a.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum.
