BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball split its Southern Athletic Association regular season finale with Millsaps College Saturday. The Panthers won the first match 3-0 and then fell 3-2.
Kennedy Dickens (Brentwood, Tenn./Ravenwood HS) and
Alyssa Coats (Nolensville, Tenn./Nolensville HS) led the Panthers offense with 22 kills each.
Gigi Fields (Columbus, Miss./Heritage Academy) finished right behind them with 21 kills, respectively. And
Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) averaged 10.43 assists per set. Coats averaged a double-double on the day after grabbing 26 digs.
Julia Shoemake (Huntsville, Ala./The Randolph School) led BSC's back line. She picked up 59 digs across the two matches.
Leah Nielsen (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS) was dominant at the net. She earned 11 total blocks to go with her 19 kills.
BSC (8-2) now prepares for the SAA tournament next weekend in Rome, Ga. The Panthers are the No. 2 seed and will face Oglethorpe in the quarterfinals on Friday.
