BRASELTON, Ga. – Birmingham-Southern men's golf team remained in 3rd place out of eight teams after round two of the 2021 Southern Athletic Association Men's Golf Championship on Saturday. The Panthers tied Sewanee for the lowest combined team score for the day shooting a combined 295, 3-over par. The Panthers currently sit two strokes behind Oglethorpe.
As a team, the Panthers have a two day total score of 604 ,20-over par, and trail first place Sewanee by 13 strokes headed into Sunday's final round.
Junior
Sammy Brucker (Franklin, Tenn. / Furman) led BSC on Saturday, shooting a 71 to finish the round 2-under par. Brucker sits in third place with a two day combined score of 147 for 1 stroke over par.
Sophomore
Connor Hawkins (Franklin, Tenn. / Franklin HS) sits right behind Brucker after shooting a 73 to finish round two at even par. Hawkins has a two day combined score of 149 for 3 strokes over par.
Junior
Slade Dawson (Bessemer, Ala. / Helena HS) also finished the second round by shooting a 73 even par round. Dawson is currently tied for 14th place with a two day
combined score of 154 8-over par. Sophomore
Price Bryan (Jackson, Miss. / Saint Andrews Episcopal) finished the second round inside the top 20. Bryan shot a 80 7-over par to finish tied for 20th place with a two day combined score of 157 11-over par.
Birmingham-Southern will pick up the tournament with round three at Chateau Elan - Legends Course on Sunday morning.
