BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern women's soccer scored two quick goals in the first 11 minutes of play against Oglethorpe University to earn the 2-0 win Friday night on Goldfarb Field. BSC (8-2-1) is now 3-1-1 against Southern Athletic Association opponents and sits in third place in the league.
Abby Kay Choate (Tifton, Ga./Tift County HS) opened scoring in the eighth minute. She took a pass from
Amelia Dodds (Huntsville, Ala./Saint Paul John II HS) on the right side of the goal and headed it in past the keeper. Choate assisted the Panthers second goal three minutes later. She headed a pass to
Lettie Lundy (Mt. Pleasant, S.C./Wando HS) who then kicked it in at the right post.
Blakley Jones (Tuscaloosa, Ala./Holy Spirit Catholic HS) picked up the win after a full 90 minutes in goal. This was her sixth shutout of the season.
BSC remains at home. The Panthers welcome Berry College to the Hilltop for their final home match of the season Sunday. Kickoff is set for noon.
