FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - Birmingham-Southern opened up the 2021 fall season by competing at the Royal Lakes invitational. The men's golf team finished tied for ninth in a 18 team field. The Panthers finished the weekend shooting a 607 (+31).
The Panthers competed with five nationally ranked teams. The Panthers tied with #17 Berry College for ninth place. After shooting a 308 (+20) on day one the Panthers had a spectacular day to shaving off nine strokes from the day before and shooting a 299 (+11) to move up three spots.
Sammy Brucker (T21),
Davis Fisher (T32), and
Slade Dawson (T48) all placed inside the top 50 individually. After shooting a 78 (+6) on Sunday Brucker came out and shot a two-under 70 on Monday to move into 21st place. Fisher was consistent all weekend shooting a 76 (+4) on both days of the tournament. Dawson shot an 81 (+9) on Sunday, but bounced back with a two-over 74 on Monday to finish tied for 48th.
