BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Luke Touliatos hit the game-tying shot and game-winning shot to get the Panthers back to .500 on the season and 2-1 in the conference. For the second time in three games the Panthers won the game in the last three seconds of game time.
Hendrix came out on fire hitting four of their first five shots taking an early 11-4 lead. The seven point lead would be the largest of the game for either side.
Cameron Glover scored the next two points to pull the Panthers within two. Both teams traded baskets for the remainder of the half with no team leading by more than one possession. At the end of the half Hendrix led by one, 32-31.
The Birmingham-Southern offense came out firing on all cylinders, hitting their first four shots of the half. Hendrix was equally as impressive hitting three of their first five shots. At the under 12-minute media timeout BSC was trailing by two but had some momentum starting to swing their way. Both teams continued to trade baskets and play a hard-nosed brand of basketball.
Coming down the stretch BSC got the stops they needed and hit the shots to keep the momentum and the crowd in it. Down by four with 1:36 to play, it would be the Panthers to score the next seven points to win the game. With 43 seconds left
Luke Touliatos drove down the lane and made a difficult layup to tie the game at 65-65. After a defensive stop on the other end, and the shot clock turned off the Panthers held for the last shot.
Cameron Glover dribbled the ball up drove to the right elbow, shoveled the ball to Touliatos curling up from the wing. Touliatos took the shot, and hit it to give the Panthers a three-point lead with 2.7 seconds left. The Panthers pressed the ball coming in and made sure Hendrix was unable to get off a shot. The Panthers walked away victorious 68-65.
