PANTHERS FALL IN FINAL GAME OF HOMESTAND

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - In the final game of the Panthers four-game homestand, BSC lost to Oglethorpe 94-82. Birmingham-Southern was unable to find their shooting stroke in the game. The Oglethorpe defense also forced 17 turnovers resulting in 17 points for the Stormy Petrels.

Both offenses started slow, with the first made basket coming after two minutes of game play had passed. After a couple minutes of trading baskets, Oglethorpe went on a 13-3 run and built a 12-point lead. The Panthers then went on a run of their own out scoring Oglethorpe 14-5 and tying the game at 26-26 with just over five minutes to play. As the first half started coming to a close the Stormy Petrels got hot and rattled in a few key baskets, giving them an eight point lead at the half. 

Out of halftime BSC did all they could to stop the Petrels but were unable to stop them as they grew their lead by as much as 19 with about nine minutes left in the half. The Panthers cut the lead to 10 with help from Cameron Glover and Christian Stewart who combined for 16 points. Coming down the stretch BSC kept fightining but were unable to inch closer. They would up falling by a score of 94-82.

> Over the four-game homestand the Panthers shot over 30-percent from three just once. 
> Christian Stewart was one point and one rebound away from a 20-20 game. 
> The Panthers had a season-high 61 rebounds in the loss.

The Panthers will hit the road on Friday, Jan. 28 as they travel to conference foe Berry. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in Rome, Ga.
