Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

SECOND HALF COMEBACK FALLS SHORT

ROME, Ga. - Birmingham-Southern fell behind early but fought back and took the lead late after the Vikings had led by 14-points at halftime. The Panthers could not keep their lead down the stretch and fell to conference foe Berry, 81-75.

The first half was dominated by the Vikings as they took the lead and never gave it up. After Berry opened the game on a 10-4 run, the Panthers stayed within reach for most of the half, keeping it a two possession game. With just under six minutes left in the half Berry found their groove and was able to extend their lead to double digits and ultimately took a 14-point lead into halftime.

Coming out of halftime the Vikings hit the first two baskets extending their lead to 18. The Panther offense was able to find some rhythm and cut the lead down to single digits with just under 13 minutes left. With about half way to go in the final period the Panthers exploded for a 10-2 run to cut the Viking lead to 63-61. The Panthers were propelled by a couple three-point baskets by Luke Touliatos and Evan Sigler

Both teams traded baskets before, Touliatos hit a fast break three-point shot that put the Panthers up one with 4:55 to play. Just as it looked like BSC had gained all the momentum Berry closed the game on a 14-7 run and won the game 81-75.
