Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

PANTHERS DROP FOURTH STRAIGHT

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Panthers dropped their fourth straight game after giving up their halftime lead in the second half. BSC found no rhythm on offense shooting 26.3% from the field and only making one three-point shot in the second half.

A week after falling to the same Oglethorpe, the Panthers looked to come out on top this time around. BSC opened up the game shooting 4-for-4 and led 11-0 before Oglethorpe took a 30 second timeout. Out of the timeout the Stormy Petrels went on an 11-3 run and pulled within three points of Birmingham-Southern. The teams would trade baskets and leads for the next bit of play. About halfway through the period BSC went on a 10-0 run getting baskets from four different players. Oglethorpe tried to climb back in the game just before halftime but did not, the Panthers would head to halftime with a seven point lead, leading 38-31.

Coming out of halftime the momentum completely switched instantly. The Stormy Petrels opened up the half on a 14-4 run and took a three-point lead. After that point they would never give up the lead. As the period went on the Panthers could not find the bottom of the net and the Petrels grew their lead by as much as 20 at one point. The Panthers could not overcome the deficit and dropped their fourth straight game, 85-69.
