SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's track and field teams were back in action this weekend, in their first meet away from Birmingham. The Panthers continued to compete well as they have been improving each week.
Track
BSC had three student-athletes place in the 400-meter dash.
Kamryn Bendolph finished third with a time of 1:00.59, a new personal record (PR) for Bendolph. On the men's side
William Wideman (50.83) and teammate
Reece Weaver (51.00) finished eighth and ninth respectively. Both athletes time is a PR for their indoor career.
Wideman and Weaver also placed in the top ten in the 200-meter dash. Wideman finished seventh with a time of 22.99 and Weaver finished just behind him with a time of 23.01.
Jailah Loving earned one of her two top tens in the 200-meter as well. Loving finished sixth with a time of 26.97.
The most impressive showing came in the women's 60-meter dash as two Panthers placed in the top five. Loving finished third while
Monasia Taylor finished fifth. BSC was one of three schools to have two athletes in the finals, but the only one to have two athletes place top five in the event. Loving's time of 7.96 resulted in a new PR for her in the event.
In the men's 60-meter hurdles
Andrew Warhurst recorded a PR with a time of 8.99.

Field
Jordan Jones had a day out on the field events. Jones placed first in the men's triple jump with a jump length of 14.51 meters. He followed that up with a second place finish, and broke the BSC program record, in the men's long jump with a jump of 7.00 meters. Two other Panthers joined Jones in the top 10 of the men's long jump as well. Wideman finished just behind Jones in third with a PR of 6.83 meters. Lastly
Maurice Sutherland rounded out BSC in eighth place, jumping a season best 6.65 meters.
The shot put was a big event for the Panthers. Three athletes finished in the top 50 and all would record a new PR.
Andrew Smith out threw his previous record by 1.24 meters.
Isaac Happel shattered his original PR and out-threw that by 1.8 meters.
Jacob Kennedy threw a seasons best 12.21 meters in the shot put finishing in 26th place.
Alicia Willis also threw well in the shot put breaking her PR by 1.28 meters.
The Panthers are growing up and maturing in competition each week, and you can see it from the final results.
