BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team was unable to break through against a stifling Rhodes defense.
 
It was clear from the start that this would be a low scoring match with both teams' defenses holding their own. Despite the Lynx breaking the Panthers' line to get within scoring range, Mary Claire Henry pulled in five saves early in the half to keep them from jumping ahead.
 
The back-and-forth continued as the half began to draw to a close with the assumption that it would end tied up at zero. However, the Lynx slipped in a goal as time was expiring to take the lead.
 
The second half opened up similarly, but this time, the Panthers looked to kickstart their offense with a few quick shots on goal. Unfortunately, this would only prove to energize the Lynx who further secured their lead with another goal.
 
This score would hold true for the remainder of the match. Four different Panthers were able to create enough space to get shots off, but none were able to find the back of the net.
