BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A high powered offense sees the Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team fall at home to the Vikings.
The Panthers had their backs against the wall from kickoff. They were able to put enough pressure on the opposition to keep the shots off target, but the shots were coming fast and often.
The Vikings would score to jump ahead by one, and they continued to bombard
Mary Claire Henry with shot after shot. She would hold her own for the most part tallying 3 saves in the half and keeping the deficit to a minimum. However, the Vikings would sneak in on last goal before time expired to move their lead up to two.
The second half looked to be promising with the Panthers making solid plays and moving well into the opposing territory. This would result in some potential scoring opportunities, but none would come to pass.
Two late goals gave the Vikings a commanding lead with little to no hope for a comeback. This would not crush the Panthers spirits as they continued to fight hard for every possession down the stretch.
