BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – An energetic second half pushes the Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team past Millsaps in their final regular season match.
Another tight match was instore with the Panthers and the Majors trading off possessions in the early minutes of the match. The Panther defense locked down, holding the Majors to only one shot for the half.
This helped to make the Panthers be the aggressors, spending majority of their time in enemy territory. Two shots later in the half would give the them hope and energy going into the break.
That energy would in fact carry over, leading to some great early looks at the goal. Eventually,
Abby Rose Branham would cash in on one of these opportunities on a breakaway run off of a midfield assist from
Halle Morton.
Branham's goal kept the momentum with the Panthers as they continued to dominate the ball for the remainder of the half. The defense continued to keep the Majors in check to seal the victory, which was the perfect way to cap off Senior Day.
