SEWANEE, Tenn. - It was Sewanee that got on the scoreboard first but the Panthers quickly took over the game and never looked back. After an opening field goal by the Tigers, BSC scored 47 unanswered points to win the game 47-3.
On the opening drive of the game Sewanee marched down the field and got on the board as the drive ended in a field goal. The Tigers 3-0 lead wouldn't last long as the Panthers marched down the field on their opening drive. The drive was capped off with a two-yard touchdown run by
Jon Lewis. For the remainder of the first quarter both teams traded possessions and would not score again.
The Panthers added to their lead with just under 10 minutes left in the second quarter with a 34 yard field goal by
Zach Ford. After making Sewanee punt on their ensuing possession BSC extended their lead after
Jon Lewis scampered in from 18 yards out for his second touchdown of the game. The BSC defense forced the Tigers into a three and out and again went down the field to score a touchdown. This time
Matt McClary found
Byron Millsap in the endzone to extend the lead to 24-3. BSC took that lead into halftime.
The second half was all BSC as the defense pitched a shutout in the second half. The offense kept rolling as they came out and scored a touchdown on their opening drive of the second half. They also would score on their second drive to put the game out of reach 37-3. BSC forced two turnovers and suffocated the Tigers offense. The three points was a season low allowed by the Panthers.
