BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Panthers jumped out to a late first half double-digit lead and that is all they would need to pick up their third straight win in conference. Birmingham-Southern has also won five of their last six games.
After recording his second three touchdown game of the season
Jon Lewis got the scoring started in the second quarter with a six yard touchdown run. A failed extra point put the Panthers up 6-0. Later on in the quarter BSC forced the Hendrix offense into a three and out and took over at their own 45-yard line. On the very next play from scrimmage
Matt McClary found
Branden Rew open down the middle fo the field and hit him for a 55-yard touchdown pass. McClary and Rew have connected for a touchdown in two of the last three games.
On the ensuing Hendrix possession the Warriors marched 63 yards down the field in 10 plays to get on the scoreboard and cut into the lead just before halftime. BSC led 13-7 at halftime.
Coming out of halftime it was all Birmingham-Southern. The Panthers scored 17 unanswered points. In the third quarter
Grayson Stacey ran in from 10 yards out to extend the BSC lead to 20-7. Then in the fourth quarter, BSC put the game away with another
Jon Lewis touchdown run and a 29-yard field goal by
