LAGRANGE, Ga. - After getting a big win against Piedmont University the Panthers traveled to Georgia to take on non-conference opponent LaGrange College. In the battle of the Panthers, it was LaGrange that game away victorious.
Both offenses struggled to get going to start the game with only a few baskets made as the game hit the under 16-media timeout. Out of the timeout the teams started to pick up their shooting woos and traded baskets. Neither team could stretch a lead of five or more points. In the final stretch of the first half BSC tied the game at 32 with a three-pointer by
Cam Glover. After the big three by Birmingham-Southern, LaGrange went on a 5-0. Glover hit another three just before halftime but the Panthers would trail 35-37 as halftime hit.
Out of halftime both teams traded baskets and leads for the majority of the second half. With just over six minutes remaining in the game LaGrange went on a 9-2 run. The run fueled LaGrange the rest of the game and they were able to ride the scoring run to victory. The run was too much for BSC to overcome and fell 82-71 in the first game of the LaGrange Tournament.
