LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Panthers bounced back on Sunday, Nov. 19 after a losing a late lead and falling to LaGrange. BSC garnered a 90-71 victory over the Huntingdon Hawks.
BSC opened up the game on an 11-2 run to quickly claim the lead. The Panthers got five baskets from four different scorers including
Cam Glover, Martise Jackson,
Jay Gillispie and Bryson Bishop. Huntingdon tried to get back in the game and tie or gain the lead but could not. Later in the period the Panthers went on a 10-1 run to take a 16 point lead late in the first half. The Hawks got the last four points of the half and would cut the lead to 12. As the teams went into the locker room the Panthers would lead 48-37.
The second half was controlled by the Panthers. BSC did not let their foot off the gas and proceeded to shoot the ball at the same clip they were in the first half while the Hawks were unable to keep up the pace. Birmingham-Southern led by as much as 31 with 3:48 left in the game. The Hawks fought back but it was too little, too late as time expired on the Hawks 11-0 run as the Panthers won the game 90-71.
