ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Athletic Association named Birmingham-Southern senior forward
Brooke Westhoelter as the conference player of the week for women's basketball. This is her first conference honor of the season.
Brooke came back strong after missing five games. She put up some big performances to help the Panthers to two wins at the Millsaps Thanksgiving Classic. Against Huntingdon, Brooke eased back into action, knocking down four three-pointers and grabbing four steals. She had an all-around great game against Centenary, again, knocking down four three-pointers on her way to a team high 16 points. She also nabbed two steals, pulled down four rebounds, dished out two assists, and swatted away a shot.
The Panthers look to be on a roll, winning their last three games giving them a record of 5-3. BSC is currently ranked top five in the nation in nine statistical categories including points, steals, and offensive rebounds per game. They look to open up conference play with a win this weekend facing Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss.
