MONTGOMERY, Ala. - For the second time this year the Panthers never trailed in a game. Birmingham-Southern's opening 15-3 run played a big role in the 84-76 win over Huntingdon. The win results in the Panthers sweeping the season series against the Hawks.
The Panthers shot a season high 51.6-percent from the field with two players scoring in double figures.
Cam Glover posted 16 points to lead all scorers. The junior added three assists and two steals.
Josh Childers recorded his seventh consecutive double-figure game. The senior grabbed three rebounds and blocked a shot to maintain his 1.6 blocks per game average.
Martise Jackson was one rebound and one point shy of his first career double-double performance.
The Hawks were led by a 16-point, six-rebound performance from Myles Murphy. Murphy made 6-of-10 shots from the floor as the Hawks shot their second worst percentage from three-point land in the loss.
The Panthers opened up the game on a 15-3 run and never looked back. BSC never allowed the Hawks to cut the lead down to single-digits. At the half Birmingham-Southern would lead 38-25. At of the half BSC kept up the offense extending their lead by as much as 20 points with 14:21 to play. The hawks would fight back but it was too little, too late. BSC walked away with an 84-76 victory.
