MIDDLE INNINGS HURT PANTHERS

DEMOREST, Ga. - The Panther offense picked up right where they left off yesterday scoring seven runs in the first four innings. Piedmont did not back down and scored 18 unanswered, 10 of which where scored in the middle innings.

BSC scored two runs in each of the first two innings to give them a 4-0 cushion. They scored three over the next two innings to extend their lead 7-0. Five different batters were responsible for bringing in the seven runs. In what looked like another big win for BSC, Piedmont fought their way back into the game.

The Lions scored 10 unanswered runs from the fourth through seventh innings. The 10 runs came on just five hits. BSC was unable to answer in those innings, they would threaten in the seventh inning but could not scratch a run across. Piedmont added eight more runs in the eighth to take an 18-7 lead.

The Panthers added two runs in the ninth inning on a Shane Nelson home run, but could not push across anymore and fell to the Lions 18-9.
