Misenheimer, N.C. – The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team took on Pfeiffer University for the first road game of the year and had a dominate performance. After falling to Southwestern last matchup at home the Panthers bounced back against the Falcons with a final score of 14-7.
The Panthers led the first half going into halftime with a score of 6-4. It was a back-and-forth battle in the first quarter with both teams only scoring two points each.
Carter McAlpin and
Reid Harrison were the scorers for BSC in the first quarter. BSC took the lead in the second quarter with
Austin Johnson putting up three goals and Harrison scoring his second goal of the day. The Panthers kept that momentum going coming out of halftime by scoring four more goals in the third quarter and increasing the lead to 10-5. Johnson continued to go on a scoring streak by putting up two more goals for the Panthers.
Kyle Winter and McAlpin both scored a goal to increase BSC lead.
Josh Knight,
Micah Finotti, and McAlpin help the Panthers in the fourth quarter by putting up four more goals to finish the Falcons off.
Austin Johnson had a great performance leading the Panthers in goals. Johnson had a total of five goals. He added on four groundballs.
Carter McAlpin scored four points and added on one assist.
Luke Fajack recorded 10 saves and picked up the win for the game.
