BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Panthers dominated in their first home game of the season defeating Piedmont 19-5. Three Panthers scored five or more goals in the game.
The Panthers started fast and kept that momentum going all game. With just under five minutes left in the first quarter the Panthers were leading 6-1 and
Kathleen Napier had already recorded a hat trick. Piedmont recorded two goals before the quarter ended to cut the lead to 6-3.
The second quarter was all BSC as all four goals scored in the period were Panther goals. Birmingham-Southern took a 10-3 lead into halftime. Coming out of the break the Panthers did not slow down as they scored five goals in the third while keeping Piedmont shutout for the second straight quarter.
With the game out of reach in the fourth the Panthers added on a couple more for good measure. Piedmont scored twice in the period as BSC won by a final score of 19-5.
