BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Coming off a big win Friday, the Panthers kept that momentum rolling into Sunday as they defeated Sewanee 83-65.
Cameron Glover lead the way, scoring 17 points shooting 7-of-9 from the floor.
The Panthers opened up slowly as Sewanee built a 20-9 lead in the first seven minute of the game. The Panthers quickly regrouped and went on a 20-7 run over a seven minute span to take a two point lead as the first half started to wind down. For the remainder of the half both teams traded baskets and leads, but it was BSC who would hold the lead at the end of the first half. The Panthers took a 40-38 lead into halftime.
The second half was dominated by Birmingham-Southern. The Tigers were limited to 27 points on 9-of-27 shooting, and did not hit a single three point basket in the second half. BSC held onto the lead for the entire second half.
With about 12 minutes to go the Panthers started to pull away, causing turnovers and cashing in on the opportunities.
Luke Touliatos propelled the scoring with eight points in about a minute and a half of game play. The Panthers were dominate in the second half and won the game 83-65.
SAA Tournament Implications
With the wins over Centre and Sewanee this weekend the Panthers moved into third place to keep pace in the conference standings, and currently are in a position to host a first round SAA Conference Tournament game.
