PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Birmingham-Southern baseball team opened up their spring trip to Pensacola with a big 15-7 win over University of Wisconsin at Platteville.
UW-Platteville got on the board in the top of the first inning as they scratched two runs across to take an early lead. BSC responded in the bottom half of the inning with one run and added two runs in the second.
After the Panther pitching staff settled in they threw three scoreless frames in the second, third, and fourth inning. The Panthers extended their lead in the fourth inning scoring four runs, two coming on a
Noah Best homerun to left field. They carried their offense into the fifth and sixth inning scoring three runs in both innings.
After six innings BSC led 13-5. In the last three innings each team added two more runs. Ian Burstine threw a flawless ninth inning only needing five pitches to finish the game.
