BRYAN THROWS NO HITTER

JACKSON, Miss. - The Birmingham-Southern softball team shutout Millsaps in two games, not allowing a single run to be scored and run-ruling yet another team. Hailee Bryan threw her first no hitter of her career in the first game of the doubleheader. Birmingham-Southern run ruled Millsaps in the first game of the day, 17-0, and won the second 6-0. 

Game one
The Panthers had an incredible first inning, putting up 9 runs on 7 hits. Alyssa Fowler and Kailey Walters both doubled to start things off, with Walters bringing in a run. Izzy Berkopec tripled to right center to bring in two more runs, making it 4-0 for the Panthers. Kaylyn Chapman, Morgan McGuire and Alyssa Fowler all had singles that drove in runs for BSC. A sacrifice fly from Kailey Walters brought in the last run of the inning for Panthers, ending the first with a 9-0 lead. 

The Panthers kept their momentum going adding another four runs in the top of the second with RBI singles from Cassidy Dickson and Morgan McGuire. McGuire stole home to bring in the last run of the second inning, up 14-0. The bottom of the second brought a 1-2-3 inning for the Panther defense. The Panthers put up three more runs in the top of the fifth when Izzy Berkopec hit an inside the park three-run homerun, to finish the game 17-0. Hailee Bryan finished off the fifth, holding off the Majors from getting a single hit, concluding her no hitter.

Game two
BSC took the early lead again in the second game of the day, putting up three runs in the top of the second. Kaylyn Chapman got it started with a double to score Izzy Berkopec. Cassidy Dickson and Morgan McGuire both brought in runs to extend the Panther lead to 3-0. 

Birmingham-Southern added another two runs in the top of the third when Jada Askew hit a two-run homerun. The Panthers lead 5-0 by the middle of the fifth inning. BSC put up their final run in the top of the sixth with a single from Cassidy Dickson that scored Krislyn Dapprich. The Panther defense and pitcher, Caroline Campbell, had 1-2-3 innings in the bottom of the fifth and sixth.
